afur-2Everyone has their own ideal holiday. Many people travel to Tenerife to enjoy the spring-like climate, the beaches and exuberant
vegetation. In addition to this, many others come to take part in open air activities. The star activity is hiking, with more
than 1,500 kilometres of different footpaths which include: routes along the coast, through forests or around volcanoes.

The island will be the European capital of hiking from 10 to 14 March 2015 when it hosts the Tenerife Walking Festival. The event is open to hikers from all over the continent. Apart from the spectacular routes organised specifically for the festival, participants will be able to enjoy one of the most beautiful places on the island: Puerto de la Cruz.
