The town of La Orotava begins the production of the famous carpets of Corpus Christi. This year, the main carpet of the Town Hall square is 870 square meters wide and is made with volcanic sands of twelve different colors to be finished by June 30th.
On May 3rd Tenerife celebrates the day of the Cross: Crosses on the houses are festively decorated with flowers. In municipalities that include the word “Cruz” in their name, it is public holiday, including Puerto de la Cruz.
